For everyone who enjoys some company

better together.

A walk, a coffee, a game night, a creative hour. Gader shows you small get-togethers near you, so you can join in, show up, and come back next week. That's how strangers become familiar faces.

How it works

four small steps.

  1. 01

    Find something you enjoy

See what's happening near you, today or this week. Pick what you're in the mood for: coffee, a walk, music, games.

  2. 02

    See who's going

Every activity shows who's joining, and you can ask a question in the conversation beforehand. So you already know a little about who you'll meet.

  3. 03

    Go together

Join in one tap, or share it and bring a friend, neighbour or colleague along. Come as you are; being there is enough.

  4. 04

    Come back next week

Same place, same time, often the same people. After a few times you're greeting each other by name. That's where friendships can start.

You don't have to go alone.

Not keen on walking in by yourself? Bring someone along, or say hi in the activity's conversation beforehand. Afterwards you can add people as friends and send them a message, so a nice chat doesn't have to end at the door.

What you get

simple, calm, nearby.

Small groups

Activities are small on purpose, so there's room for a real conversation.

A reminder beforehand

You get a reminder before it starts, so it doesn't slip your mind.

Follow what you love

Follow the organizers you like and see their activities first.

Photos together

After an activity, everyone can add photos to a shared album.

You decide what's visible

Choose what's on your profile and who can see it, from your age to your social links.

In your language

Gader works in Dutch and English.

Is it really free?

yes. always.

Joining Gader is free, and it stays that way. Most activities are free to join as well, and you can always start your own. There's no subscription, ever. Later on we may offer a few optional extras, but finding, joining and coming back to activities always stays free. Your part is simply showing up. We don't sell your personal data, and there's no endless feed designed to keep you scrolling: the app is there to get you out the door.

So who pays? Organisations that invest in neighbourhood life, like municipalities, housing corporations and funds. They want neighbourhoods where people know each other, and we show them in totals how many people took part and came back. Never anything about you personally.

Good to know

questions we often hear.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Gader works in any browser at app.gader.nl, on an iPhone too. On Android you can also get the app from Google Play.

I won't know anyone there. Is that weird?

Not at all, that's exactly what these activities are for. You come for the activity itself: the walk, the game, the coffee. The conversation often follows by itself. And if you'd rather not go alone, bring someone along.

Is it safe?

Gader is built around small activities in everyday places like cafés, parks and libraries. After an activity, people can rate each other, which helps build trust. And if something doesn't feel right, you can report a profile, photo or activity. Our team looks at every report.

What happens with my data?

You decide what's on your profile and who sees it. You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time. The details are in our privacy policy.

Why might Gader ask me a few questions?

Now and then we may ask a few short questions about how your social life is going. The answers help us learn whether Gader really makes a difference, and we only ever report them in totals. Answering is optional and never stops you from joining anything.

Can I organise something myself?

Of course. Anyone can create an activity in a minute. Running something every week? Have a look at Gader for organizers.
